Classified Information Procedures Act: In other words, built-in defenseless defense

A headline reads:

‘Feds say classified info may enter NC terror case’

Here we go again. Repeated tactics to victimize the innocent, or “enhance” punishments at whim and desire.

Nowadays prosecutors routinely say that these terror cases involve classified material that will raise national security issues if given to their defense attorneys. The “Classified Information Procedures Act” and similar enhanced prosecution tools are euphemisms for unjust use of “classified information” that only the prosecutors submit and use to press their case, and which defense lawyers and defendants do not have access and therefore cannot see, evaluate and contest. In a case like this wherein the prosecutors are using primarily wiretaps and informant tapings (the so called plotter turned government informant as reported by some), the result may be a terrible travesty of justice when innocent people may be convicted for having their words taken out of context and sewn together stitch by stitch from tons of raw material all deemed “classified information.” Since the defense cannot see that material, they cannot prove that it is out of context, and the jury is stuck with the horrendous picture painted by the prosecution.

In other words, a railroad job; loaded dice; a kangaroo court; a charade.

A system that resorts to institutionalized procedural manipulations and falsehoods to persecute and victimize a targeted minority of their citizens for their race, ethnicity and religious convictions cannot ultimately survive and can only have a limited time of hubris.  Human nature hates falsehood and injustice and is outraged at the sight of discrimination and persecution, and this is why truth and justice will always prevail in the final analyses. Either the system corrects itself, or collapses from its contractions and injustices.
