It is possible in the USA?

It is possible in the USA?  It is possible in the USA to be a faithful practicing Muslim as the USA constitution and NC state laws allow, to purchase and own firearms as the USA constitution and NC state law allow, to fire these legal firearms on USA soil on private property as the USA constitution and NC state law allow, and to travel overseas to visit family (one went to see pregnant wife) and friends and sight see lands of Muslim heritage (like the Holy Land) as the USA constitution and NC state law allow, and then become indicted on embellished, trumped up charges for alleged crimes of terrorism, punishable by life imprisonment?  It is possible in the USA? Some are trying to make this a sorrowful reality.

Is it possible to do a patriotic act in one decade, being a “freedom fighter” profusely praised by President Reagan, the US State and Justice Departments, the US military, the CIA, etc etc, and then have that very same act become visiting “terrorist camps” and engaging in “terrorism” latter on at the whim of some prosecutors?    What does this term “Blowback” mean?

US President Ronald Regan and leaders and statesmen from all the “free” world and the Muslim world were praising the heroic resistance to occupation and oppression of the Afghan Mujaheddin and their helpers from around the world, but how quickly do people forget recent history and utterly contradict themselves.

US President Reagan said in the State of the Union, February 1985: “We must not break faith with those who are risking their lives on every continent from Afghanistan to Nicaragua to defy Soviet-supported aggression and secure rights which have been ours from birth . . . Support for freedom fighters is self-defense.”

Read through the hype and type of the print media. Look past the gripe and wipe of the electronic media. Use your intelligence, your moral sense of dignity, truth and justice.  Put the sensationalism of the US media aside. Ponder, reflect and study the indictments and various sides of the story, and hear the reactions of family, acquaintances and neighbors, and judge upon the facts.  Do not just flow where you are being pulled by tides of accusations and sensationalism. Read and seek the truth for yourself.

Saifullah has pleaded guilty in a new development. We do not know the details of the “plea deal” and of course many innocent people plead guilty under the guise of “plea deals” to protect loved ones, and he certainly has been under immense pressure from the torture that is called by the euphemistic name of “solitary confinement” and the inability to communicate, (eg. letters do not arrive or very belated, etc).  Allah knows best as to the details of this action and its reasons, and we are seeking to discover more details of this so called ‘plea bargain’, and the real cause.

Zakariya Boyd

Official booking photo of Zakariya Boyd, released Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Boyd is one of seven men arrested and facing federal terrorism-related charges in Raleigh.

Following his father before him, Zakariya Boyd pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

Boyd, 22, is one of two sons of Daniel Patrick Boyd, a Johnson County man arrested by federal agents in July 2009 and accused of taking part in a conspiracy to wage “violent jihad” outside the United States. Also arrested was other son Dylan Boyd and four other men.

Daniel Boyd pleaded guilty in February to conspiring to provide material support to terrorism between Nov. 2006 and July 2009. He also plead guilty to conspiracy to “murder, kidnap, maim and injure people in a foreign country.”

“Today, Mr. Boyd stepped into an American courtroom and was afforded the rights and privileges of a system of which he would have destroyed,” said U.S. Attorney George E.B. Holding, according to a statement released by his office.

His decision to plead guilty sets him on a different path — a path consistent with the rights and safety of the citizens of the United States, both at home and abroad.”

The indictment against Zakariya Boyd alleged that, as part of the conspiracy, Boyd and other defendants prepared themselves to engage in violent jihad and were willing to die as martyrs. They also allegedly offered training in weapons and financing, and helped arrange overseas travel and contacts so others could wage violent jihad overseas.

In addition, as part of the conspiracy, the defendants raised money to support training efforts, disguised the destination of such monies from the donors, and obtained assault weapons to develop skills with the weapons. Some defendants also allegedly radicalized others to believe that violent jihad was a personal religious obligation.

At sentencing, Boyd faces a potential 15 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.

Trial for the remaining co-defendants in custody is scheduled for September 2011. or             919-829-4698
Jihad in Raleigh, NC
Written by APB Staff
Blonde hair and blue eyes are not generally what come to the minds of many when they picture terrorists. But the recent indictment of a North Carolina man who authorities say was planning acts of terrorism in the name of “jihad” proves that the face of terror doesn’t always look the way many people assume it would.

The case of Daniel Patrick Boyd, 39, is nothing short of bizarre. Neighbors and family members unaware of Boyd’s politics and intentions to kill innocent people say they are totally blown away by the allegations.

But authorities indicate that the suspect’s history and the collection of weapons he was putting together paint the picture of a violent extremist.

Boyd has been charged, along with two of his sons and four other men, all from North Carolina, after authorities felt they had built a strong enough case to make the arrests. Mr. Boyd, a drywall contractor, has militant roots dating back to the 1980s, when he was in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Prosecutors say that Boyd was there from 1989 through 1992, where he received military-style training in terrorist camps.

Of course, back then the Muhajadeen were not considered terrorists by the U.S. government, but rather freedom fighters, trained and equipped by the CIA as documented in the book and subsequent Hollywood movie “Charlie Wilson’s War.”

Boyd allegedly fought alongside Afghans against the Soviets and appears to have become enamoured with the identity of a “freedom fighter” and radical Islamic extremist.

Prosecutors say Boyd’s time in Pakistan also included terrorist training that he brought back to North Carolina.

Over the course of the last several years, authorities say, Boyd has spent his off-hours finding and training like-minded individuals to die as martyrs waging jihad, which is the Arabic word for holy war.

Authorities would not disclose any specific targets that Boyd and his co-conspirators had planned to strike, but suggested that the potential targets were overseas rather than here in the U.S.

Boyd and some of the others traveled to Israel in June 2007, intending to wage “violent jihad,” but returned home without success, according to court documents.

Boyd’s sons Zakariya Boyd, 20, and Dylan Boyd, 22, were named in the indictment. Another son, Luqman, died two years ago in a car accident.

The others charged are Anes Subasic, 33; Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan, 22; and Ziyad Yaghi, 21. Hysen Sherifi, 24, a native of Kosovo and a U.S. legal permanent resident, was also charged in the case. He is the only non U.S.-citizen charged.

The seven men made their first court appearances in Raleigh recently, where they faced charges of providing material support to terrorism and “conspiracy to murder, kidnap, maim and injure persons abroad.”

Neighbors and others say that Boyd lived in a quiet lakeside home in a rural area south of Raleigh, where he and his family operated the drywall business.

Jim Stephenson, a neighbor in Willow Spring, said he was flabbergasted at the charges.

“We never saw anything to give any clues that something like that could be going on in their family,” Stephenson told reporters from the Associated Press.

In 1991, Boyd and his brother were convicted of bank robbery in Pakistan and were sentenced to have a foot and a hand cut off of each of them, but the decision was later overturned.

The wives of the brothers told the Associated Press in an interview at the time of the bank robbery that the couples had U.S. roots but the United States was a country of “kafirs,” which is the Arabic word for heathens.

It is unclear when Boyd and his family returned to the U.S., but in March 2006, Boyd traveled to Gaza and attempted to introduce his son to like-minded individuals that also believed that violent jihad was a personal religious responsibility, according to the indictment said. The document did not say which son Boyd took to Gaza.

Daniel Boyd’s mother, who lives in Maryland, said she knew nothing about the current case.

“It certainly sounds weird to me,” Pat Saddler told the AP.

It’s unclear how U.S. authorities honed in on Boyd, but court documents seem to indicate that prosecutors will introduce evidence gathered under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

The strongest indication of Boyd’s intent just might be found in his falling-out with the mosque he attended in Raleigh. Boyd’s beliefs about Islam were not acceptable in the moderate mosque.

As a result, Boyd stopped attending services there and began meeting for Friday prayers in his home, U.S. Attorney George E.B. Holding said in an interview. He did not say whether any or all the defendants met with him.

“This is not an indictment of the entire Muslim community,” Holding told the Associated Press. “These people had broken away because their local mosque did not follow their vision of being a good Muslim.”

Disturbing news

Dylan  Boyd has been attacked in jail, on June 11, 2010, by an cellmate and suffered severe injuries, including a broken jaw and broken rib.

Apparently Dylan did not defend himself from the attack ( he is a strong man able to defend himself)  because he sought bravely to do the best in this situation, and not give the prison authorities the excuse to blame the incident on him.

The story will be monitored for more information and detials.

The horrific condition in many USA jails is a continuing shame for the American people.

Trial date for Triangle terror suspects delayed

The new date for trial in Sept. 2011.

An extra year waiting for justice.

The Almighty God is the All-Seeing All Hearing, The Absolute Witness of all events in His creation, who will Judge all humans with Perfect Justice, sending the criminals and disbelievers to His punishment, and the repentant believers to His reward.

By Anne Blythe – Staff writer

RALEIGH — A federal judge on Friday delayed the trial date for Triangle-based terror suspects to give lawyers more time to review the computer evidence, more than 750 hours of recordings and 30,000 pages of documents associated with the case.

Louise W. Flanagan, a federal district court judge overseeing the case, moved the trial date to Sept. 19, 2011, nearly a year later than a previous schedule.

Daniel Patrick Boyd, 39, his sons, Dylan Boyd, 22, and Zakariya “Zak” Boyd, 20, and four other men – Hysen Sherifi, 24, Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan, 22, Ziyad Yaghi, 21, and Anes Subasic, 33 – were charged nearly a year ago with conspiring to provide support to terrorists and conspiring to murder, kidnap, maim and injure people abroad.

An eighth suspect, Jude Kenan Mohammad, 20, is believed to be in Pakistan.

In her order on Friday, Flanagan also said that while the government did not plan to interview potential witnesses overseas, defense lawyers had not ruled out the potential need for travel abroad.

“It long has been evident that this complex multi-defendant case requires expenditures of more time and resources than is typical,” Flanagan said in the order. or 919 836-4948

And lest we forget the recent history of the “Reagan Doctrine”

when patriotism called for personal and national sacrifice against

the “Evil Empire” of International Communism;

[President Reagan has been quoted in the news that he said while introducing some leaders of the Afghan Mujahideen( from the Arabic word  “Jihad” ) to the media on the White House lawns (1985): “These gentlemen are the moral equivalents of America’s founding fathers.” Yet others say that this is confirmed for his saying about the Nicaragua Contras and not for the Afghani Mujahedeen: but as it has been said, he could have said it for them given his doctrine and track record and rhetoric on the subject]

By the President of the United States of America A Proclamation

….Most important, it is essential that we and others continue our support of the brave struggle by the Afghan resistance. We must not let up until all Soviet troops depart and the Afghan people are free to determine their own future. Nothing less will suffice. I am proud of the strong support provided over the past 6 years by my Administration, by the Congress, and by the American people. I am confident we shall continue to stand firm and not falter.

The Congress, by Senate Joint Resolution 63, has authorized and requested the President to issue a proclamation designating March 21, 1987, as “Afghanistan Day.”

Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim March 21, 1987, as Afghanistan Day, and I urge the American people to participate in appropriate observances to reflect our support of the Afghan struggle for freedom…..Ronald Reagan [Filed with the Office of the Federal Register, 11:10 a.m., March 23, 1987]
